Description
The GRAiCE MED Global Summit 2026 is a high level international research and institutional convening dedicated to shaping the responsible future of artificial intelligence in healthcare, with a focused emphasis on behavioral and mental health.
Hosted in Rome, the summit brings together global leaders in medicine, AI research, ethics, theology, law, governance, health systems leadership, and policy. The program moves beyond abstract AI ethics discussions and instead centers on clinically grounded, human centered, implementable frameworks for AI deployment in care delivery.
This summit positions healthcare, and especially behavioral health, as the defining domain where human dignity, scientific rigor, and technological capability must align.
Why Now?
AI systems are rapidly entering clinical environments, particularly in behavioral and mental health, where decisions are deeply personal, relational, and value-laden. At the same time, healthcare institutions face mounting pressure to adopt AI tools without sufficient guidance on governance, accountability, and human oversight.
Key forces converging now: This summit responds to a clear gap between ethical aspiration and clinical implementation of AI, positioning healthcare as the domain where AI must be ethical, responsible, and human-centered.
- Growing public concern about AI in healthcare, trust, autonomy, and moral outsourcing
- Broad ethical guidance that lacks operational translation for healthcare systems
- Increased scrutiny from regulators, policymakers, and the public
- Accelerated deployment of AI in clinical and decision-support settings

- Senior clinicians and healthcare leaders
